Musicians of the Kharkiv Music Festival from Belgium, Latvia and Ukraine
Music by Borys Lyatoshynsky and other Ukrainian and Polish composers
Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine, is home to KharkivMusicFest. Its program includes concerts, readings about music, performances of the Children’s Symphony Orchestra and the Borys Lyatoshynskyy Competition for Young Composers. But because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the festival cannot take place as planned. The Usedom Music Festival has joined an international initiative together with the Klarafestival (BEL) and has taken over a sponsorship for the KharkivMusicFest. The concert brings the renowned festival to the Baltic Sea and sends a signal of solidarity and for the culture in Ukraine, which cannot be destroyed even by the war.
