The RIX Piano Quartet combines, already in its name, classical instrumentation with a turn towards modernity. RIX is the international code for Riga Airport, the hub in the Baltic States. The program lives up to this name: Music of young composers from today’s Latvia meets the classic Johannes Brahms, who was admittedly also young at the time of composition and in his work tells of a romantic-tragic love.
