Kick-off of the Baltic Sea Music Forum
David Geringas (Violoncello)
Ingrida Rupaitė (Violin)
Povilas Jacunskas (Violoncello)
Indrė Baikštytė (Piano)
Works by GIEDRIUS ANTANAS KUPREVIČIUS, JURGIS JUOZAPAITIS, VIDMANTAS BARTULIS, ANATOLIJUS ŠENDEROVAS, FAUSTAS LATĖNAS and JOHANNES BRAHMS
The concert is dedicated to the memory of Vidmantas Bartulis, Faustas Latėnas and Anatolijus Šenderovas. Passionate, pictorial, expressive is the music of Lithuanian composers Vidmantas Bartulis, Faustas Latėnas and Anatolijus Šenderovas. It tells of love, suffering, political persecution, joy of life and deep friendship. David Geringas was personally closely connected to all these composers. They have done a lot for Lithuania as artists and to some extent as politicians. This concert remembers the friends who all died in the last two years and reflects their music in the lyricism and power of Johannes Brahms’ first piano trio.
*Should the renovation work at Stolpe Castle not be completed at the beginning of the concert, the event will take place in the heated concert tent between the Remise and the castle.
